i acknowldge that Pollan's suggestions are amazing and people get healthy, but many people can't follow his suggestions. Not only do people plat a garden, but they also get out of the supermarket. Their most time spend making money for living. Unlike his suggestion, they want to eat more and pay less.


I can't follow his suggestion because I am an international students. So, i don't have enough time to plant a garden and I have to buy food in supermaket, becuase i don't have a lot of money. Also, I'm busy for studying, so i spend my time for alone.


His ideas are just dream. Maybe everyone want to follow his suggestions, but people can't follow in real life. Most people live in city include my family and me. So, they don't have places to grow thier food and they can't spend time to grow their plants.

Bottled water is safer than tap water


When i came in New York, buying water was really unfamiler to me. I never bought water in Korea. I didn't know which bottled water was good. So, I usually bought cheapist one, but I wondered what was different from other bottled water which is more expensive that I picked. I found what was different. It was PH. The higher PH water was, the more expensive it was. After I knew, I bought Evian. It was little expensive that other bottled water, but I could trust it. Sometime,when we went to restaurant and  just ordered tap water, they surved water in lemon. It mean that they tried to make high PH water. High PH was good for people.

In the movie, "meatrix", the maker talks that cows drink other cows blood for growing faster. It causes  cow's DNA mutate and change. That is really serious problem. People eat cows and milk from them.Not only does mutating and changing DNA cause illness cow and people also sick as they eat cows, but cows also easily infect from vaterias. People can't eat meat without fear no more.




4 years ago, in Korea, almost 2000 cows were die because of vacteria's infaction. That reason was that farmers drink other cow's blood for growing quickly. They didn't care of cows and other people who eat their meats. They just needed more money. That mutating DNA makes cows illeness, and led all die. If people ate that meat, they would be illeness like cows.

Before I came to New York, i was really conservative. So, I believed that something only men can do such as  becoming firefighter or police. Those jobs really hard and really dangerous. So, in Korea, most firefighters or polices are men. If women do, many people think strange. Koreans are used think women usually weaker than men. That happens really rare in Korea. When I came to New York, i could easily find police women on street. First time, it was really odd, but I changed my mind. Women also do hard jobs and even some women do many things that men can't. six months ago, when i was in Manhattan, I saw a robber ran from polices. A woman police jumped and caught red handed because she was light on her feet.

Changing in worldview it helps me live better. Before I came to New York, I was a baby in the woods. I just judged men and women that men are stronger than women. So, men always help women. That was wrong and stupid thinking. People have all different abilities and strength. Sex doesn't matter whatever they do. Through experience, I can look at world from various angles.

While I wrote many essays in this semester, I think last essay was great for me. I tried to write new style. I wrote hook, and I  focused example. Also, I didn't use "I believe or I agree" sentence. It helped me write my essay flexible.

I think blog was really good because I didn't have chance to read other students' essays, but I could easily read other students' essays through blog. While I read other students' essays, I could think differently, and I could write how I changed my essay to get high score.

I have almost one month until take CAT-W test. I will study grammar and I will try to read many books or new papers. Also, I practice to write some CAT-W style essays. I will try hard and I will pass that test.

Knowlegde makes me happier beacuse knowlegde makes me increase a mind of wide scope, and  it gives me oppertunities for meeting new people. For instance, last year, I interested in art, so, I learned fine art's history and learned drawing pictures. It was really exciting. Before I learned fine art's history, I rarely knew meaning of many pictures in museum, even though these pictures were well appreciated such as Picasso's pictures. After I learned fine art, I could understand about why these pictures were called masterpieces and how they were incredible. Also, I could share my knowledges in arts with new people who have same interesting with me. Learning new knowledges helps me enjoy my lives.

In the article, "With Farm Robotics, the Cows Decide When It's Milking Time", Jesse McKinley states that cows are milking without farmers at upside New york farms. The aswer is robotic milker. Robots feed and milking. Farmers says the robots work 24 hours for them without rest time and they can make cows feel more comfortable than farmers do. The robots check cows' everything such as steps per day. That machine is not expensive, so a lot of farmers use it. As machine care cows and milking, not only do not farmers need hard work, but they also acquir more milk when they do, because cows are distressd when machine do.

Blog3. I Know the Truth, So Don't Bother Me with Facts.

            Even though people know fact, why do they waver by rumors? In [the] article, "I Know the Truth, So Don't Bother Me with Facts", Jeffrey Kluger states that humans easily believe rumors. In the study at Ohio State University, R.Kelly Garrett and Erik Nisbet make people believe rumors that Islamic cultural center build in Ground zero, even though it is not true. They meet two conclusions that are handling people's belief and circumstances. They don't want to be wrong. If data is diffrent with their thinking, they usually feel agony. I agree with Jeffrey Kluger that people tend to easily believe by rumors because they don't have knowledge about informations of rumors. Also, they tend to take their freinds talking for granted as facts.

            First, people tend to not doubt about some rumors that are heard by acquaintancesors because they believe acquaintancesors as usual. For example, five years ago, North Korea attacked South Korea's ship. So, many [of] my friends told me war in Korea would break out. I easily believed that rumor, and i [was] depressed . North Korea attacking South Korea ship was true, but war didn't break out. Although it was rumor, I didn't doubt them, because I was sure that they always told me true.

             Second, when people have mixed feeling about some rumors, they easily change their belief by few people. Lack of informations of rumors make them concede their points because they want to be right, and they think others who think other side will be right of rumors. Others look like talking true of rumors. The author say " Even in the best of circumstances, fewer than a third of people were willing to reverse their positions." People are unsure of some rumors. so, they are carried along by the atmosphere, even if they are ringt.
          
            Conclusion, people usaully believe rumors that they have not enough informations and interestings. Thus, if that rumors are heard by their relates, they even doubt that, and that become facts. the more they know information of rumors, the less they waver by rumors.

           In the article,"Hype", Kalle Lasn states that a lot of advertisements in america have negative effect on people. numerous commercials come out everywhere they go, even if they don't want ads. tey can't escape from ads.i agree with author because people can't rest their time form tons of ads, and that ads cause reason of stresses.
          people want to take their times ,and they don't want to any interupts when they calm down. However, their times receive invasion from numerous ads. Author says, " There is nowhere to run."  It means that people can't take thier times away from ads. Too much is as bad as too little. it makes people get stress. Even people can see ads in public restrooms, when they are in front of urinal. they can't spent their time away from commercials.
          For example, when I was alone, i usually enjoy watching movie in my home. Last week, I watched Korean movie in OCN. Before starting movie, I spent more than 10 minutes to watch ads. After starting movie, I concentratd to watch that. Suddenly, screen changed and came out ads, even though movie wasn't finished. I waited five ads, and i could watch movie again, but it happened again after 40 minutes. I couldn't concentrate to watch movie. I got a stress, and stop to watching movie. that commercial pollution floods interupt me to my break time.
       in conclusion, people have to need their times from everything that they don;t want. however, they recieve invasion their times from tons of ads. it will be negative effect on people.
