BLOG# 11 "HAPPY MEALS"

The article “Happy Meals” the author admonished us to go back to the old day of our grandparents and eat fresh and natural food. We must eat a lot of vegetables and plants that are freshly grown. I remember in the old days in my country, my grandparents had a farm and they planted lots of vegetables. They had rare their own chicken and cow. For fish they would go down to the river catch fish. So in those day we hardily went to the supermarket 85% of the items that we ate was fresh. The author recommended that when we go to the supermarket that we must shop from the wall that where the fresh food.

Michael Pollan advise us to stay away from foods that is not good for our health.  Too much fatty food and process food are not good. These foods may cause heart attack and we will suffer from all kinds of illness. The reading mentioned that we should stay away from food that is incapable of rotting.

It is impossible to eat a balance diet every day. Today for us to eat healthy it will cost us quite a lot. As mentioned in the reading that the American food system tends to focus on increasing quantity and reducing price instead of focusing on the quality of the food. Some family income are so low that they cannot afford to purchase the healthy food. In American we cannot have a garden all year because of our four weather season. Unless we are wealthy it is very difficult to maintained a healthy diet.
