BLOG # 13 "WHY ARE WE SO FAT"



People gained weight because of Fatty food, the oily and sugary food that are sold very cheap. During the year there was a decline in price for in fatty foods and soft drinks by sixteen and twenty percent respectively. Eric Finkenlstein a health economist mentioned in the passage that if people would consumed less soda and drank water, there would be a weight loss.  I disagree with the article that states that the American population gains weight because food is cheap but  although food is cheap we have watch what we eat so that we would not gain any weight and become obese.

We cannot survive without food but it all depends on what we eat will determined what we become. In study the obesity rate in the world is very high and the rate is on the increase as the years goes buy. As mentioned in the article in decades before and even now food are being sold at a cheap rate, but as a peoples we have of desire to eat healthy and not buy junk food. Once we continued on the path of junk food we would be deem as obese. Being obese we cannot enjoy health, we are likely to develop heart problem, respiratory problems etc. I recall watching on TV where a young child age 10 years was obese and his parents brought him on the show to get him help. The parents confess that they give the child lot of junk food and he had to get it every day.  They tried to stop giving him the food because they saw if rapid weight gain. The child would cry and cry all day so they continued to give it to him.

In conclusion I strongly recommend that people should start looking at calories, fat, sugar etc when they are going shopping. When you go to the supermarket, yes some junk food might be cheap, but then it can be detrimental to your health. If we want to live a live free from obesity we should eat the right kind of food that would be healthy for our bodies. Avoid soda and drink a lot of water, also try as much possible to let exercise be a part of your daily routine.
