I'm agree with Garrett and Nisbet because rumors can make that people be discriminate and people can start to feel fear.
Firs of all, People can be discriminate for the society. In our society people like to believe in rumors and doesn't take a time to think if is [they are] true or not. For example after 9/11 New Yorkers didn't want to take a cap if the car was driving for a Mussulmen because people was thinking that every Mussulmen was involve in the accident in the towers.
