Write Blog 3: Summary of "I Know the Truth, so Don't Bother me with Facts."

In “I Know the Truth, So Don’t Bother Me with Facts,” Jeffrey Kluger claim that most people do not want to change their belief once they accepted them even though they are provided with the facts. People are easily fooled by giving them untrue story or completely wrong information. There fore, Ohio State University of assistant professors of communication R.Kelly Garrett and Erik Nisbet research to estimate how much they seriously believe on false information, and how much their standpoints will change when they are being made visible to the facts of the cases. It comes out with [It turns out that] people can be easily influenced with “insinuating picture or inflammatory quotes ,” on the other hand only a few people are willing to change their opinions when they know the truth. More over, most of the people are extremely attached with their biases when they are being told they are wrong. Jeffrey Kluger is right when he states that we dont want to believe others than our belief because of our high expection and fear of losing our possessions.
When people are in troubles they stick to the wrong thing as their hopes, and they dont even want to listen professional advices. Mostly people are want to get back healthy lives while they are in sickness, so they will find a way to maintain their health in different ways by taking medicine or doing physical activities. Some of the greedy people are taking advantages from this weakness by providing them expensive ineffective medicine. Recently I read an article from my country which is the advertisements sold a dietary supplement as a perfect medicine that will cure every dieases including cancer. Therefore, most of the cancer patients stopped getting the chemotheraphy, and fully depended on that supplement. Eventhough their doctors explained them detail about the side effect of that dietary supplement, the patients did not listen and keep beliveing in their wrong informations. As a result, they had to give up their hopes early.
Futher more, we are not only being happy of winning all the time, but also afraid of losing our possessions. Mostly banks will be get in trouble when clients become doubt on them, and also that doubt can lead the banks to be shut down. Once it was happened to Asia Da Na bank from my country, at that time there were rumors about that bank was in a bad shape and it would nearly bankrupt. In reality, they lent a lot of money to small businesses, and different companies and they are running the business smoothly. However, they are doing in good jobs when the clients doubts were raising and withdrew their money back, that bank got into troubles. Because most of their clients money were lent with agreements to other businesses, they couldn't ask them back immediately. At first the bank didn't want to file a bankruptcy, so they tried to perusade their clients in different ways [such as] as offering high percentage of saving rates to avoid taking money back from them. Eventhough they tried to satisfy their client by selling their properties and gave back their money, when there were a lot of demand and they couldn't handle that situation. At last, they had to file a bankruptcy, and shut down their bank.
Summing up, people are easily to believe in rumors and that rumor can give disadvatage to our society. So, before we belive on something we have to make sure where that information come from inorder to prevent unexpected events happening.

You prove here that you understand how essays work. Good job.

What we need to work on now:

1. Connecting and referring back to the reading in your body paragraphs.

2. Proofreading your final draft. Here you have several mistakes that you could have fixed if you had proofread the post carefully.
