Blog #11 "Happy Meals"

According to the article “Happy Meals” pollants states, how we can avoid eating unhealthy food to start eating healthier food. In the country that we are living right now is very difficult and sometimes is impossible to bring fresh food to the table and its converts not easier to eat healthy diet every day. It requires a lot of time to find the correct food, pay more money for the food and the most important thing is the personal disposition to try to eat healthier. Bases on pollants suggestions of how we can eat better, my family and I can follow his suggestions by:

Staying away from anything incapable or rotting, like Twinkies, because in my native country we didn't use to eat those types of snacks. Which, is good for us because they are very rich in fat, sugar, artificial colors etc. completely affecting our health. What’s more, we can also avoid food products that make health claims. Such as: margarine, because it’s very heavily processed, leading heart attacks along that it’s not healthy for me because it makes me get a lot of pimple on my face.

As I mentioned before, it’s not easier to have a healthy diet every day. Even thought, eating mostly plants, especially leaves provide antioxidants, fiber, omega 3s and fewer calories than regular food. We cannot keep them in our food dispense. Because every time we try to eat this type of food we feel like we are not eating anything plus are like an unflavored grass that we are eating, not making feel our stomachs full. Neither stop going to the nearest supermarket to go to buy to farmers market. Because New York life is so stressful that the little time that we have free is to do grocery and spend time with the family.

Nevertheless, I really appreciated pollants suggestions by trying to help us to have a healthy diet, because what we eat is what we are. But there still suggestions that my family and I would like to do right now and because of the circumstances we are not able to do it. We would like to plant a garden to eat completely healthy but it requires enough space to plant and in order to do that we need to have a yard or own private house. Another thing is try to eat slowly to have a better digestion and enjoy more the food. Which is a big deal because in New York life we are always in rush to go back to work.
