Does Knowledge Make You Happier?

Does knowledge make us happier? It´s very good question! I think it really depends who you are and from what angle you wanna see your future. At some point everybody know that knowledge is power to proceed and see what doors can it open, but there are humankind who ignores the sagacity and there are who love devour it.We have three kind of people.The first kind are happy on the level let´s say zero. Second kind are not satisfied on the level where they currently, but they balancing and deciding what to do. Last one are the people who know what they want and very soon they reaching the PEAK and not just one.

      In the short movie "Allegory of the Cave" Socrates points on the people who are in  the cave. Happy with the poor knowledge. The first kind of people are just exactly the mirror of the Allegory of the Cave. I think these people are too lazy and comfortable with the life what they live. They don't like trammel and trying to escape if any shows up. Definitely they are missing some points in their life for what they should move on. For example when i was eighteen and just graduated I didn't have the drive motor in me for what to continue the college and also the people who surrounded me, they never had the goal to start the college and get wiser. So I stayed in the cave for a while with them. Later I start feel that I´m loosing time for a nothing. The years just past and past and I felt on the same level if not lower then I was when I graduated. I wasn't happy at all anymore. I couldn't find myself. So I decide to do something about it. I start study. It wasn't easy after all these years to start again but I feel that I can brief finally. The new knowledge makes me more happy in my life and it makes me feel the I´m moving forward. These feelings I can liken to the prisoner´s feelings in The Allegory of the Cave, when he got free and start know the real life outside of the cave.

     As I mentioned these tree kinds on humankind let´s talk about the second kind. These people are so undecided. They would love to move from the level 1 to level 2 but they cant find the real reasons why to do it. What I think, they need somebody to lead them to the goal. For instance one of my friend went on the college, but not because he wanted, he went because of his mother. She was always leading him what to do. He start the college in the Prague which was far away from his home. Let me tell you that this college was five years college, three years Bachelor and two years Engineer. It took him finish the school eight years. He never was sure if he really want to finish it. His mother wasn't around him anymore and he get lost. When he was done, I talked to him if he is happy now that he went trough this painful way for such a long time he said : its nothing bad to stay a student for a long time,but it definitely worth it to finish the school!

      The third kind of people are those who nobody can stop. They are curious and hungry after knowledge. For them the knowledge it´s  easy walk. They know that knowledge will open them the new doors in the life.Like in the Matrix when Leo had choice to take red or blue pill. He had that opportunity and he went for it without thinking. Really nice example is my cousin. She start he college, now she is finishing last year. She already start another college. I´m so proud at her. She seems to me never satisfied with her level and hungry  after more and more knowledge. She knows that more knowledge will open more doors for her and gives her more opportunity in the future.

    In conclusion I think the knowledge is very important not just to get better paid job or to tell friends ohh I had finish college. The knowledge it´s about us how our mental life can grow and bloom and to be proud of our self. It is painful journey but it definitely worth it.
